At Old Stone Vets we try to provide you with the best veterinary care for your animals at a reasonable price. Our basic price list below covers the routine costs. Any operation your pet may require will always be given an estimate of costs upfront. We always try to explain the costs involved in every procedure. We re-invest in our practice facilities all the time. New equipment and upgrades are all expensive but by having trained staff, equipment and expertise available at our practice means we can do the best for your pets under our care.

Out of Hours Provision

We at Old Stone Vets, provide our own “Out of Hours” service 24hrs a day 365 days a year. This means that one of our vets with access to your animals clinical records will see you at one of our surgeries (Mainly at our Alston surgery as this is where we have operating facilities). When you ring any of our surgery numbers out of hours, you will be directed to the emergency vet on call for true emergencies. Please remember that bookings or general advice should be sought during normal opening hours. The emergency line is for emergencies only please. The vet on call will take details, discuss your animals condition and decide whether an Out of Hours consultation is necessary. They will advise you of the initial cost of £175 for an out of hours consult and direct you to the surgery most appropriate for your animals treatment. We do require payment at the time for Out of Hours services provided.

 

Occasionally if an emergency surgical procedure is necessary, more staff may be needed to facilitate safe operational procedures. You (“the client”) will be billed for the extra costs of any further staff requirements in these rare circumstances.

A detailed estimate for all procedures is given before the operation and consent

Prices for certain operations out with routine procedures vary on size, time, patient and severity. We always keep clients informed of costs of all treatments throughout the procedure.

I am so glad that we did. What a professional and friendly practise, from the lovely lady on reception through to Rachel who did a fantastic job at the vetting. She had taken on board exactly what we were looking for in our potential new horse, and tailored the vetting exactly to suit that.
